Job Summary
We are seeking a Thrift Store Manager to lead our retail operations in our Philippi and Belington stores. In this role, you will oversee daily store activities, manage staff, and ensure a welcoming environment for shoppers and donors alike. Your leadership will drive sales, maintain inventory accuracy, and promote a positive team culture. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the community.

Duties

  • Lead the overall management of the thrift store, including sales, inventory management and customer service excellence
  • Supervise and train staff on store policies, POS (Point of Sale) systems, cashiering procedures, and customer engagement strategies
  • Manage store budgets and provide accurate financial record keeping and reporting to management
  • Implement marketing initiatives to boost community awareness and increase foot traffic
  • Responsible for the daily operations of the Thrift Stores in Philippi and Belington and related facilities, including: cash register operation; schedule and manage staff and volunteers (may involve some evening or weekend hours); prepare displays and advertising; review daily register reports for accuracy and deliver cash and receipts to the office for deposit; load, unload and drive Heart and Hand vehicle to transport bags of merchandise between stores or for disposal.
  • Allocate work time between both thrift store locations (Belington and Philippi).
  • Represent Heart and Hand to the general public (may include speaking engagements and participation in other community organizations and events).

Requirements

  • Ability to work Monday-Friday, 8:30AM – 4:30PM (35 hours per week)
  • Hold a valid driver’s license and ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Excellent organizational skills with ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced setting.
  • Proven management experience in retail or thrift store environments with supervisory responsibilities, including cashiering duties and customer service
